New York, oh how I love thee

Every time I go to New York I feel like a little kid in a candy store!  I absolutely love the city and everything about it, even the smell around six o'clock when the streets get filled with the day's trash!  We were able to go to new york last week and it was another successful Jardell vacation.

I was able to go the the Dance Teacher Summit at the Hilton and take class from THE Twyla Tharp, Mandy Moore, and many others that are amazing teachers and choreographers that I look up to.  It felt good to be able to dance for myself again.  As a teacher you don't get the chance to just dance and LIVE as often as you used to.  Not that my body liked the whole dancing again part BUTTTTT my soul definitely needed it.  I loved every second of the Summit and will be going back every year.

I think the best part of the trip for me was getting to spend quality time with my family.  We all live in different cities around Texas where getting together for extended periods of time doesn't often happen.  We got to make fun of each other and laugh about it and just enjoy the splendor that the city has to offer.  I have missed those moments.

Throughout this whole period in my life I don't want to lose myself and forget where I came from.  My family is everything to me and I need to always remember that.  That's something that we all need to remember, how important our families are.  Growing up I can definitely say that I have been guilty of taking family moments for granted and not appreciating that time you had together.  Looking back at it all makes you question why you didn't live in that moment and forget about your phone or your friends and commit 100% to family time.  I love my family and cherish every moment I get to be with them now even more now that I have grown up and experienced the world a bit more.  Don't take family time for granted you never know when you won't be able to.

Hey you! Go hug your family!

With the selfie craze sweeping the nation you know the Jardell's had to get in on that action!  We took selfies everywhere we went and made a little game out of it.  Here are some of those for you to see:
